ASTA Team Elevates Role of Conservation Operations in Letter to Congress

  • On April 30, 2026

ASTA co-signed a letter advocating Congress to fund the Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) conservation operations at $1.05 billion for Fiscal Year 2027. In this letter, dozens of national and local organizations representing farmers, conservationists, and agriculture businesses conveyed the importance of the systems that enable producers to take advantage of conservation programs and provide technical assistance that farmers rely on to maximize the value of the funding they receive. When these elements of the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) are funded properly, the agency’s programs serve as an important source of business for the conservation seed companies, facilitating the cooperation between producers and the industry in the pursuit of land stewardship that preserves the environment for generations to come.
