New Resource to Support Counter-Seasonal Production During the Pandemic

  • On October 28, 2020

Travel restrictions related to the ongoing pandemic have caused concern within the seed industry for counter-seasonal production. ASTA members with counter-seasonal production in South America typically travel January-March to supervise the critical window between pollination and harvest. Those with international research and development programs also travel to make decisions for their breeding programs.

ASTA has created a spreadsheet with COVID-19 related travel information from key embassies in South America. The spreadsheet was recently updated with new information from the Chilean embassy. Staff will continue to monitor the U.S. embassy websites and communicate with national seed associations and U.S. embassies abroad to provide the most up-to-date information and potential solutions to members throughout this challenging time. ASTA members can view the spreadsheet on the Members Only COVID-19 page. For questions, please contact Lainey Wolf.
