ASTA Launches International Working Group Regional Kickoff Meetings

ASTA is launching four new International Working Groups covering Africa, Central and South America (CASA), Asia and North America. These groups bring together participants from across the seed industry to support ASTA’s outreach to specific countries and global regions.

In October, ASTA hosted virtual kickoff meetings for three of the four groups. The Africa Working Group kicked off on October 9, followed by the CASA Working Group on October 15 and the Asia Working Group on October 21. During each kickoff, ASTA staff provided an overview of ASTA’s international programs, described the Association’s goals for the working groups, and worked with members to identify priority engagement topics, potential action items, and outreach opportunities. The kickoffs drew strong participation, with ASTA members contributing perspectives on regional trade, regulatory, and policy issues. A kickoff meeting for the North America Working Group will take place in the coming weeks, completing the rollout of all four regional groups.

International Working Groups are open to all ASTA members. If you are interested in joining, please contact ASTA’s Director, International Programs & Policy, Ben Rietmann.
