Senate Ag Holds Farm Bill Markup Hearing
- On August 20, 2026
The Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry held a business meeting on August 6 to consider its Farm Bill proposal and debate amendments. At the end of this process, known as “marking up” a bill, the Committee failed to advance the bill, though another vote is expected after Congress re-convenes in mid-September. This development follows the House successfully passing its own Farm Bill earlier this year.
ASTA has long advocated for Congress to pass a full, five-year Farm Bill.
