In Memory of Marion Hawkins, Jr.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marion Dargan Hawkins, Jr., GoldLeaf Seed Co., on November 14.

Marion graduated from Clemson College (now University) with a degree in Agronomy. After graduation, he served two years in the U.S. Army. Following his service, he accepted a job at International Minerals Corp. He then worked at Coker Pedigreed Seed Co. for over twenty years. In 1995, he established GoldLeaf Seed Co., a domestic and international supplier of tobacco seed.

He is survived by son Marion III (Lori), daughter Elizabeth Macdiarmid (Trey), daughter Greta Anne Rowe (James); grandchildren Dargan and Carter Macdiarmid, Graham and Lyla Rowe; sister Anne Sercer of Columbia; and two nephews Pete and Paul Sercer.
