Farm Groups Urge USDA to Extend CFAP Deadline, Ease Rules

On August 7, ASTA, the American Farm Bureau Federation, Agricultural Retailers Association, Association of Equipment Manufacturers and numerous commodity groups sent a letter to USDA Secretary Sonny Perdue urging the department to extend the sign-up deadline for the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP). In addition to extending the deadline, the groups urged USDA to increase its outreach to growers and to reconsider the eligibility rules and per-person limit.
