Congressional Recess Provides Opportunity for Local Congressional Engagement

  • On July 31, 2019

During the month of August, members of Congress will leave Washington, D.C. and travel back to their home districts and states for the summer work period. While this time is known as “recess” inside the Beltway, members of Congress will be hard at work taking in-state meetings, hosting town halls, and visiting constituents. This presents a great opportunity to invite your Senators and Representatives to visit your facility to learn more about the seed industry and the issues impacting your business.

ASTA has put together a “how-to” document for hosting Congressional visits. The document can be accessed on the ASTA Member’s Only website. If you have questions or would like assistance in contacting your Congressional representative, please reach out to Virginia Houston, Director of Government Relations.
