ASTA’s new Policy & Leadership Development Conference (PLDC), June 9 – 13 in Washington, DC, will offer new twists on educational programming. In addition to its new multiple-track series on innovation, trade and international opportunities, sustainability and leadership development topics, spouses and family guests can learn how to “Make Your Voice Heard” in every day conversations related to the seed industry story – and how those family voices have helped shaped American history in Washington D.C. Check out ASTA First Lady Julie Tally’s video introduction to this new, purpose-driven content at the June ASTA event.

On Sunday, June 10, advocacy expert Kim Bremmer (back by popular demand!) will keynote an interactive educational luncheon for rising leaders, communications professionals, spouses and family guests on how to tell the seed industry story when everyday conversations about food arise. On Monday June 11, a special “How Spouses Shape Diplomacy” tour of Embassy Row in Washington D.C. will illuminate how famous spouses of the past have organized crucial social occasions that changed the course of history. Then, on June 12 and 13, spouses and family guests can join ASTA’s Storm the Hill effort on Capitol Hill for guided advocacy visits with members of the House, the Senate and their staff.

Also, don’t miss ASTA’s new “PL/DC Lightning Talks.” The series will offer quick-burst presentations, each running 15 minutes or less, from industry and government experts during session breaks at PLDC in an interactive arena format.
