ASTA Meets with New Yorks Ag Commissioner & Director of Environment and Conservation About Treated Seed Waivers
- On May 12, 2026
ASTA’s state government affairs team, as well as representatives from NY Farm Bureau, New York State Agribusiness Association (NYSABA), the Certified Crop Advisors, and CropLife America, met with NY’s Departments of Ag and Department of Environment and Conservation to discuss the importance of treated seed to growers in the state. Legislation was passed to ban the use of neonic-treated seed for corn, soybean, and wheat, except with a waiver. The group met to discuss the importance of a workable waiver process for growers to continue to be competitive in their state and northeastern region.
