Applications Open for UC Davis’ European PBA Class VII

  • On March 2, 2022

The Seed Biotechnology Center at UC Davis developed a professional development course to teach the principles of plant breeding to seed industry personnel. This program is a rare opportunity where the curriculum equals or exceeds that of one Ph.D., because it is entirely focused on plant breeding, and it is mainly taught by experienced plant breeders. The Plant Breeding Academy develops the skills and abilities of current industry personnel to enable them to become independent breeders or more valuable contributors to larger breeding programs. This two-year course addresses the reduced numbers of plant breeders being trained in academic programs. Participants meet six sessions over two years, starting in October.
