USDA Report Reveals Planting Intentions

USDA’s recent National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) Prospective Plantings report reveals producers intend to plant an estimated 91.1 million acres of corn in 2021, up less than 1% from last year, and 87.6 million acres of soybeans, up 5% from last year. All wheat planted area for 2021 is estimated at 46.4 million acres, up 5% from 2020. All cotton planted area for 2021 is estimated at 12.0 million acres, down less than 1 percent from last year.
