USDA Accepting Regional Conservation Partnership Program Proposals

The Department of Agriculture (USDA) is now accepting proposals through August 24 to fund projects that will help farmers, ranchers, and forest landowners boost their operations and conserve natural resources. This $310 million in grant funding is available through Classic projects, which utilize contracts between the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) contracts and project partners such as producers, landowners, and communities, and Alternative Funding Arrangements, where the lead partners work directly with producers to develop innovative conservation approaches unavailable under the Classic project model.
RCPP is a partner-driven approach created in the 2014 Farm Bill to fund conservation solutions to natural resource challenges on agricultural land. NRCS implements the program, and ranks applications based on how they address soil and land health, enhance resource management, and promote sustainable agriculture and long-term protection of agricultural, grassland, and forestland viability.
