Tariffs Return on Vegetable and Flower Seed Imports from China

  • On August 19, 2020

On August 6, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative denied ASTA’s one-year tariff extension request for vegetable and flower seed imports from China. This means that as of August 7, these seeds are once again subject to 25% tariffs. ASTA has expressed its concern to the Administration and is working to get additional clarity around the decision.

This spring, ASTA successfully secured a tariff exclusion on behalf of member companies for 20 seed products imported between September 24, 2018 and August 7, 2020. Companies may still apply for retroactive duty refund (with interest) on products that entered in that period. Click here for the eligible products.
