  • On January 16, 2020

ASTA’s 59th Vegetable & Flower Seed Conference is already promising to be another record-setting event, with over 1,000 attendees expected from 37 countries and a sold-out Trading Room with more than 140 participating companies. Registration is still open leading up to the Feb. 1-4 event, which makes its first foray into a convention-center setting at the newly redesigned Monterey Conference Center.

The conference agenda features important educational programming on timely topics such as Sunday’s “Farmer of the Future” presentation by Brett Sciotto of Aimpoint Research, to Monday’s General Session featuring consumer trend forecasting by retailers Randy Riley of Krogers and Brian Church of Church Brothers Farms. Additional programming will include sessions on trade, tariffs, plant breeding innovation, seed treatment and much more.

A student delegation from four California universities will attend this year’s event as an immersion and educational experience to learn about the seed industry and will present posters on Monday, February 3. Thanks to Francois Korn for his leadership and guidance on this effort and to HM.CLAUSE for their sponsorship of this program.
