ASTA Weighs in on EPA’s Draft Biological Evaluations for Neonicotinoids

  • On November 3, 2021

In late August, the Environmental Protection Agency released draft biological evaluations of three neonicotinoids for public comment. ASTA submitted comments in response to these biological evaluations on registration for clothianidin, imidacloprid, and thiamethoxam. The association stressed the value of these neonicotinoids and the positive impact they provide both for farmer productivity and environmental sustainability. The comments reflected the thoughtful work by ASTA members in the stewardship arena and the broad effort to minimize the risk of pesticide exposure to humans and the environment through careful treatment, handling, and transport of seed.
