ASTA Supports Congressional NBT Letter

On March 30, 18 members of Congress wrote to the Secretary of Agriculture and the United States Trade Representative in support of advancing American leadership in agricultural innovation at home and abroad, particularly as it relates to exploring and expanding the use of new breeding technologies (NBT). The American Seed Trade Association (ASTA) offered advice on the letter content and encouraged other trade associations to urge members of Congress to sign the message. The leading role ASTA played in the letter-writing process is an example of the behind-the-scenes work it takes to serve as the leading voice of the seed industry.
