ASTA Environmental and Conservation Seed Committee Holds Workshop in Boise, Idaho

ASTA’s Environmental and Conservation Seed Committee held its yearly workshop in Boise, Idaho, May 23-24. The workshop hosted staff from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), including BLM’s National Seed Coordinator, Trisha Roller. The committee hosted speakers from several corners of the industry, including: Ruihong Guo and Ernest Allen of USDA; Sarah Wilbanks of the Association of Official Seed Certifying Agencies; Don Robison of the Association of Official Seed Analysts; Steven Beals of the Society of Certified Seed Technologists; and Heather Unverzagt of the Montana Seed Growers Association. Key discussion topics included:  the Federal Seed Act, seed certification, seed movement between states, and more.
