ASTA, Ag CEO Council Presidential Campaign Outreach

  • On October 28, 2020

With the Presidential election less than two weeks away, ASTA is continuing its outreach to both campaigns around seed industry priorities. The association is engaging in two ways: through a targeted seed-industry specific approach, as well as by partnering with broader coalitions of ag and rural stakeholder groups.

ASTA recently hosted webinars with representatives of President Trump’s and former Vice President Biden’s campaigns. These webinars served as important forums to communicate seed-industry priorities, learn where the candidates stand on our issues, and strengthen connections with both candidates as we look ahead to working with the next administration.

As part of the Agriculture CEO Council, ASTA recently collaborated with a group of the leading 20 U.S. farm and commodity associations on a bipartisan Presidential campaign briefing paper outlining the 10 core issues critical to the future of American food and agriculture. You can access the document here.

Whatever happens on election day, ASTA stands ready to continue its critical leadership role in Washington, D.C. on behalf of the U.S. seed industry.
