ASTA Hosts International Committee
- On October 1, 2026
From September 14-15, ASTA members in leadership positions from across the seed sector gathered in Washington, D.C. for ASTA’s International Committee (IC) meeting. The IC discussed the U.S. seed sector’s trade priorities and how to continue to leverage ASTA’s partnerships to eliminate barriers to seed exports. The IC also celebrated recent ASTA 2026 advocacy successes: 1) preventing governments from adopting non-science based phytosanitary requirements for vegetable, corn, and flower seed, which protected U.S. seed exports valued at over $45 million per year, and 2) eliminating tariffs on imports of seeds into the U.S., which has reduced ASTA members’ research and development (R&D) costs by millions of dollars in 2026 alone.
