House Votes to Initiate Farm Bill Conference

In a procedural vote on July 18, the House of Representatives paved the way to begin conference proceedings on the Farm Bill with the Senate. This vote is the first step toward reconciling the differences between the House and Senate versions of the bill. The Senate is expected to vote next week to begin conference proceedings. After that vote, the conference committee can formally begin negotiations.
