The National Cover Crop Variety Testing Program aims to identify how new and existing cover crop varieties perform in a wide variety of locations across the country to help farmers, crop advisors, and members of the seed industry with decision making. The program has released its second annual report, which includes data for 35 different varieties tested across 13 states during the 2025-26 cover crop growing season. Check out the report here

To learn more about key insights, including regional adaptation trends, promising new varieties, and opportunities to get involved, register here for a webinar on August 27 at 12:00 p.m. ET. The webinar will also feature a sneak peak at results from the program’s first year of on-farm variety trials hosted at 50 farms across the country. Contact Etienne Sutton with questions.
