ASTA Member ALORA in the Spotlight in Japan

On August 29, ASTA cosponsored a media event with Japan’s Network of Breeding by Genome Editing to discuss the importance of plant breeding innovation (PBI) with consumer groups in Japan.  During the event, ALORA — an ASTA member company — presented about the use of genome editing to create heat and salt tolerant rice varieties. The media event counted more than 250 attendees, and in a testament of ASTA’s strong international network, featured opening remarks from Japan’s Minister of Agriculture.
