DOT Foreign Truck Driver CDL Revocation
- On March 4, 2026
The Department of Transportation (DOT) announced that it will issue new rules requiring all commercial truck driver testing to take place in English. It also released a plan to end self-certification for commercial truck driving schools after finding hundreds of programs that failed to meet legal requirements. Under the Trump Administration, DOT has taken several steps to address concerns about foreign truck drivers who do not speak English. The Department estimates that 200,000 truckers hold non-domiciled commercial driving licenses (CDL).
