ASTA Submits Comments on Proposed Phytosanitary Requirements in Nicaragua

On February 20, ASTA submitted comments in response to Nicaragua’s proposed phytosanitary requirements. ASTA conducted a thorough scientific literature review of the pathogens proposed to be regulated by Nicaragua for bean seed of U.S. origin. Based on this review, ASTA requested the removal of a number of pathogens from the list for which no scientific evidence supports seed transmission.
