House Committee on Agriculture Passes Farm Bill Proposal, Awaits Full Chamber Vote

On March 5, the U.S. House Committee on Agriculture passed the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 by a vote of 34-17. During the markup hearing to consider the legislation, the Committee voted to add several amendments to the bill. The legislation now faces a vote on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives.
After the bill’s committee passage, ASTA President and CEO Andy LaVigne issued a statement, highlighting the key programs the seed sector supports, as well as encouraging congressional leaders to get a final bill to the President’s desk. Read ASTA’s full statement here.
