USDA Seeks Nominees for NOSB

The USDA National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) has five vacancies open for nominations. Applications must be received by mail or postmarked on or before September 9. The current openings include: 

  • Two individuals who own or operate an organic farming operation or employees of such individuals; 
  • Two individuals who represent public interest or consumer interest groups; and 
  • One individual who is a certifying agent. 

The NOSB was established to assist in developing standards for substances to be used in organic production and to advise the Secretary on the implementation of the Organic Foods Production Act of 1990.
