ASTA’s Vegetable & Flower Seed Technical Subcommittee Meets in Illinois

The Vegetable and Flower Seed Technical Subcommittee met on June 26 outside Chicago, IL, hosted by Ball Horticultural Company at their newly renovated headquarters. The meeting began with a tour of Ball’s gardens, pathology lab, and seed distribution facility. Following the tour, the subcommittee discussed key plant health issues impacting the vegetable and flower seed sectors. Topics included the new EU import requirements for legumes, a seed testing initiative by the National Plant Diagnostic Network labs, the upcoming ASTA Seed Health meeting, and the identification of research priorities specific to these sectors, among others.
